Stress Management for Modern Life

"Hypnosis is a process which produces relaxation, distraction of the conscious mind, heightened suggestibility and increased awareness, allowing access to the subconscious mind through the imagination. It also produces the ability to experience thoughts and images as real. For the process to be effective, there are two components that must be present: belief and expectation." Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about beneficial changes. The therapist assists in activating the inner resources of the client, in order to achieve realistic goals. During hypnotherapy, you will never feel hypnotised, nor will you be out of control. Hypnosis works well because the body responds to commands from the mind, your mind. You are in charge, you tell you body what to do - not anyone else. Here is an example of your mind, rather than words, having the last say: Close your eyes, visualise that you are about to taste a bitter lemon. Do you have an increase of saliva in your mouth? Yes? My words alone cannot make you have any particular reactions, no more so than the print on a page can. When you read a sad story, is it the print on the page that makes you react? Hypnosis creates realistic thoughts in one's mind. One's body reacts biochemically to these stimuli. Hypnosis for example, cannot make one a non-smoker. Hypnosis will however, make the process of quitting easier. Areas of benefit: Every aspect of life can be improved through hypnosis if one is genuine in one's desire to make progress.
